performgroup gets behind National Women’s Road Cycling Development Team

performgroup are proud to be the naming right sponsors for the National Women’s Road Cycling Development Program, providing much needed financial support for their international tours this year.

The Development Program was initiated by Cycling Australia and the Apis Group to support the development of Australia’s most promising female road cyclists in their quest for future gold medal success.

Cycling Australia’s National High Performance Manager Kevin Tabotta said that Cycling Australia had identified a gap in the development of women’s road cycling as a consequence of limited opportunities for international competition.

The ability to support Australia’s most promising women’s cyclists in international competition has long been a goal of Cycling Australia, and with our commitment this can finally be achieved. We are providing the Development Team the finance for travel, accommodation, living expenses and access to various sports science and athlete support services whilst on their international tours.

As part of our commitment to the team, we also designed an ‘Exceptional Team Experience’ program specifically for the women prior to their departure. The program was designed using tools from our current range of professional development programs.

The highly interactive and experiential four day training program also covered team presentation, media skills and sponsorship training. Learning to use tools such as the Experience Grid, Perceptual Positions and the Pinch Model will move the women closer to an ‘Exceptional Team Experience’. The objective was to increase member rapport, respect and understanding by learning processes and models for productive conversations.
